1. Sir Keith Laught (1905-1990)

Sir Keith Laught was a prominent Australian cricketer who was born in Prospect. He played as a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper for Australia in Test matches from 1931 to 1935. Laught also represented South Australia in domestic cricket and was known for his exceptional batting skills and agility behind the stumps.

2. Sir Robert Helpmann (1909-1986)

Sir Robert Helpmann, born in Mount Gambier (near Prospect), was an internationally renowned Australian ballet dancer, choreographer, and actor. He gained immense fame for his performances with the Royal Ballet in London and his work in several iconic ballet productions, including "The Sleeping Beauty" and "Swan Lake." Helpmann also made appearances in Hollywood films like "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and "The Red Shoes."

3. William Light (1786-1839)

Colonel William Light was an English military officer and the first Surveyor-General of South Australia. He was responsible for the design of the city of Adelaide and played a crucial role in the establishment of the colony. Light's accurate and methodical surveying skills greatly contributed to the successful planning and development of South Australia.

4. Russel Ebert (b. 1950)

Russel Ebert is a former Australian rules football player and coach. Born in Prospect, he enjoyed a highly successful career with the Port Adelaide Football Club. Ebert won four Magarey Medals, the highest individual honor in South Australian football, and captained Port Adelaide to five premierships. He is often considered one of the greatest players in the history of the South Australian National Football League (SANFL).

Barry Humphries, born in Kew, Victoria (near Prospect), is an Australian comedian, satirist, and actor. Best known for his alter ego, Dame Edna Everage, Humphries has achieved international recognition for his unique and iconic character. He has appeared in numerous stage productions and television shows, receiving several honors for his contributions to the entertainment industry.

6. Dame Roma Mitchell (1913-2000)

Dame Roma Mitchell was an Australian judge and the first female judge in Australia. She played a pivotal role in promoting women's rights and gender equality in the legal profession. Born in Prospect, Mitchell served as a distinguished judge in various courts and became the first female Governor of South Australia in 1991.
